Our Commitment-Manufacturing that is kind to the earth

Meiko believes that its greatest obligation is to playa part in preserving a global environment with clean air, water and abundant greenery. Protecting the environment is a central element of our management policies. Meiko is always searching for ways to make its activities even more environmentally responsible. One illustration of this commitment is a water conservation system at the Yamagata Plant.
We installed a reverse osmosis system that makes groundwater as clean as pure water. In addition, this plant has an alkali treatment system for the roughly 10,000 tons of effluents produced by the plant every year. The system makes effluents so clean they can be discharged into a nearby river. In recognition of its accomplishments, the Yamagata Plant received the 2005 Yamagata Prefecture Environmental Protection Promotion Prize.
All Meiko plants have received IS014001 certification for environmental management systems. We also have a green procurement program and have established a standard for purchasing parts that conforms to the RoHS Directive of the EU, which restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
We try very best to reduce the impact on the environment such as an emission the environment such as emission reduction for industrial waste and we signed memorandums for environmental protection.
